Routine Appointments

All consultations are by appointment. Please make an appointment either by telephone or in person at reception. If more than one member of the family is to be seen, please book separate appointments to avoid delays for other patients.

Urgent Appointments

If you have a problem which you feel needs attention urgently on the same day, please explain this to the receptionist who will make an appointment for you. Urgent cases are always seen the same day by the first available doctor.

Please help us with these consultations by ensuring we have an up to date telephone contact number. The doctors respect your time and endeavour not to keep you waiting too long. However, emergencies arise and have to be given priority. On these occasions, if you are inconvenienced we hope that you will understand.

If you cannot keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible. We can always offer the cancelled appointment to another patient.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to attend surgery please telephone before 10.30am and outline your problem to the receptionist to help the doctor assess the priority of each patient who requires a visit. A doctor usually visits after morning surgery but please let us know if it is more urgent. The doctor may phone before the visit.

Telephone Appointments

The doctors run a telephone appointmets system for things that do not require a face to face visit.  You can make the appointment as normal via reception.  Although we cannot say exactly when the doctor will call, it will usually be at the end of their morning surgery (around 11.30am). 

We will try to fit you in with the doctor you request, but if that doctors list is full for the day, you will be offered either another doctor on that day or your requested doctor on their first available appointment slot.

• Please inform us in plenty of time if you cannot keep an appointment so that we can offer it to someone else.
• Please be patient, if delays occur these are usually due to emergencies.
• Please remember that someone else may need urgent treatment - only ask for an out of hours visit if it is a genuine emergency.
• Only ask for a home visit if you are too ill to attend surgery and please ring before 10.30am.
• Please be considerate to other patients.  Do not ask for an immediate appointment when surgery is fully booked unless it is absolutely necessary.

Change of Personal Details

If you change your name, address or telephone number please let our receptionist know.  If you move out of our area it will be necessary for you to find a doctor in your new area.  The local Primary Care Trust (PCT) will helpyou if you experience any difficulty finding a new doctor.
