St. George's Patient Participation Group (PPG)

The overall aim of this group is to represent the interests and views of all patients, ensuring that the patient's voice is heard, and to help to enable the practice to deliver continuous care service improvement for the benefit of both patients and practice staff.

Our group key roles are:

Promote patient involvement and engagement in the Practice.

1. Provide constructive feedback on patients' needs, concerns and interests, providing open and constructive challenge to the practice when necessary.

2. Contribute to practice decision-making and act as a consultative body for service development and provision by being an advocate for patients.

3. Influence local health care services, providing a sounding board and input to major changes to service.

4. To improve communication between the Practice and its patients, and being an advocate for the Practice where appropriate.

5. Share best practice with other PPG's.

Our Patient Participation Group Membership

Our PPG generally meet during lunchtime on the second Wednesday of every other month.  A copy of the minutes of their last meeting can be seen via the link within the 'meetings' section, or a hard copy will be displayed on the notice board at the surgery.

If you would like to join the group and are a registered patient of St. George's, over 18 years old, then please complete an application form which you can download from the link below or obtain from reception and hand in to the surgery.  Applications for membership of the PPG, which is limited to 15 patients, need to be received in the surgery by the end of February each year.  Membership will be decided at an Annual Meeting which will be held in April.

We are keen to involve as wide a range of patients as possible.  Therefore, an online group has been established to run alongside the PPG.  We will from time to time e-mail this group to ask their views on various services provided by the Practice.  If you would like to join this group please complete the sign up form below.

The Participation Groups AGM is scheduled for:

Wednesday 17th April at 6:00pm at the surgery.

All registered patients of the practice are welcome.  In order to have an idea of numbers, please could you contact the surgery and let us know beforehand if you are planning to attend.
