Urgent appointments

If you feel you need an urgent appointment that same day, please try to call the surgery at 8.00am.  The receptionist will take brief details about your problem to enable them to select an appropriate appointment for you.  Where possible you will be offered an appointment on the day, but you may be asked to call back later in the day when more appointments are released or booked in for the following morning.

If your request is not medically urgent, you will be offered a routine appointment.

Routine appointments

Appointments are generally available from 8.10am to 12.00pm and then 2.00pm to 5.30pm.  We offer a variety of appointments to suit your needs.  Patients can pre-book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance.  Our healthcare team offer both face-to-face and telephone consultations.

Ways to book appointments

  • By telephone on 0115 914 3200
  • In person at the reception desk
  • By using a booking link, sent via text message
  • Routine Drs appointments are also available to book online via the NHS App or SystmOnline. (See details on online services section for more information)

Telephone Appointments

If you have requested a telephone appointment, the Doctor will try to call you within an hour of your appointment time.  They will try at least twice, so if you miss the first call they will call again.  They may leave a voicemail.  If you miss multiple calls, it may be that you will need to rebook your appointment at another time.

Surgeries generally run from 8.30am until 12.00am and from 4.00pm to 6.00pm with an earlier afternoon surgery on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Enhanced hours surgeries are also offered on most Tuesdays with appointments available up until 8.00pm. These appointments are primarily for those patients who find it difficult to attend the surgery during normal surgery hours.

Please ask the receptionists when individual doctors are holding surgeries.

Enhanced Hours Appointments

As a Rushcliffe patient you can access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends.  These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours, for appointments between 6.30pm and 8.00pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 5.00pm at weekends.  If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours, you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or First Contact Physiotherapist at one of four locations across the borough.

The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:

  • Cotgrave Surgery
  • Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
  • Keyworth Medical Practice
  • Radcliffe-on-Trent Health Centre
  • East Leake Health Centre

Please note that all enhanced hours appointments are pre-bookable only by contacting your own GP Practice.  There is no walk-in service offered.
