Appointments

Doctor appointments

From 28th July 2025, we are changing to a new system of booking (details below), until then please continue to book in your usual way or via reception.

To request an appointment with a doctor, please submit an online request, via the ‘submit and admin or clinical request’ button on the home page of the website. Once on that page, if you are able to login with either your Systmonline or NHS logins (via the blue boxes at the top), that would be helpful but not essential. Select the relevant medical request and complete the questionnaire.

Please supply as much information as possible, as early in the day as possible, to ensure your issue is accurately assessed.

Our online request system will be open for clinical requests from 7.30am until 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Each clinical request will be triaged by one of our GPs on the day. You may be contacted for additional information or a photo as appropriate. The team will then either offer online advice or an appointment on the day (reception will contact you) or a routine appointment (via text or email with a booking link) within a maximum of 14 days, depending on need.

If it is difficult for you to attend an appointment during the week between 8.20am and 5.30pm, and you would prefer to be offered an appointment at one of our Rushcliffe enhanced hours clinics, which are available weekdays 6.30pm – 8.00pm and weekends, please indicate this when submitting your request.

Please click here for a guide on how to submit a request.

If you would like to send a request for a doctors appointment or query, you can click here to be directed to the request page.

Admin Queries (e.g. doctor’s letter, test results etc)

For all admin queries, please submit an online request, via the ‘submit an admin or clinical request’ button on the home page of the website. Once on the page, if you are able to login with either your Systmonline or NHS logins, via the blue boxes at the top, that would be helpful but not essential. Select the relevant admin request and complete the questionnaire.

The online system for submitting admin requests is available from 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. You will receive a reply within 3 days.

What if I cannot access or complete the online form?

Ideally ask a friend / relative / carer to send an online request on your behalf, but if that is not possible you are still able to contact the practice by phone or in person and speak to a receptionist, who will give you the right help and fill in the online request for you.

Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and Blood Test Appointments

Please contact reception via the telephone on 0115 9143200 to book these.

Appointments for Annual Reviews etc

If you have received an invitation to book in for an annual review, coil / implant fitting etc, please follow the instructions on the invitation to book the appointment.

Telephone Appointments

We do have telephone appointments available. If you would prefer to have a telephone appointment, please indicate this when you send in your online request.

If the GP feels that it is something that could be dealt with over the phone, they will send you a booking link for a telephone appointment. However, if they feel you need to be seen in person, they will inform yu of this and send you a booking link for a face-to-face appointment.

Emergency Cover

Outside normal surgery hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) emergency cover for the practice is provided by NEMS Community Benefit Services Ltd Out of Hours service. It is a service that is led by a range of clinical staff such as GPs, Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Emergency Care Practitioners.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit.

To request a home visit, please telephone before 10.30am.

A doctor will usually visit after morning surgery, but please let us know if its more urgent. The doctor may phone before the visit.

Surgeries

Surgeries generally run from 8.30am until 12.00am and from 4.00pm to 6.00pm with an earlier afternoon surgery on some Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Enhanced hours surgeries are also offered on most Tuesdays with appointments available up until 8.00pm. These appointments are primarily for those patients who find it difficult to attend the surgery during normal surgery hours.

Please ask the receptionists when individual doctors are holding surgeries.

Enhanced Hours Appointments

As a Rushcliffe patient you can access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends.  These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours, for appointments between 6.30pm and 8.00pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 5.00pm at weekends.  If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours, you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or First Contact Physiotherapist at one of four locations across the borough.

The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:

  • Cotgrave Surgery
  • Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
  • Keyworth Medical Practice
  • Radcliffe-on-Trent Health Centre
  • East Leake Health Centre

Please note that all enhanced hours appointments are pre-bookable only by contacting your own GP Practice.  There is no walk-in service offered.
